Singapore’s Q Collection Expands To Sri Lanka With Hela Partnership
Q Collection Ltd., based in Singapore, has launched apparel manufacturing in Sri Lanka with strategic support from Hela Apparel Holdings PLC, marking its launch into South Asia and aligning with a vision of creating a resilient, multi-country production capability.
Q Collection has acquired operational control of Jinadasa Bennett Ltd. , subsidiary of the Hela Group, and tracked their acquisition funds and assets to Hela Group. The transaction includes seamless execution of the acquisition and management of the transfer of people and assets where all full-time employees will maintain their roles and continue their benefits unchanged from the existing terms.
“With this acquisition we enhance our global capability and very much realise our commitment to practicing ethical, high-end apparel manufacturing” said Q Collection Group CEO, Senthil Selvan. “Sri Lanka has an uninterrupted ecosystem for underwear production specifically, and doing this with the help of Hela will support growth.”
The partnership will assist Hela in its strategy to develop a hybrid model of manufacture across owned, managed and partner-led modes of operation. Hela’s CEO – Manufacturing, Sanath Amaratunga said the deal would not only help reduce the company’s short-term liabilities but also further strengthen its position financially.
Pushing the venture shall place Sri Lanka back in the international forefront as a regional apparel hub with an element of international alliance showing the exaltation of partnerships in innovation, jobs and investments. Further, this signals positive global sentiment, which views Sri Lanka’s apparel industry as a dependable, ethical, and scalable production destination.
